Melody McElroy, DVM

Dr. Melody grew up in Houma Louisiana. She has always aspired to be a veterinarian and took the first step to achieving this goal by receiving an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2002 from Northwestern State University. She continued her education and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from Louisiana State University in 2004. In 2010, she graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has since worked in private practice in Houma Louisiana, Woodbridge Virginia and Ponchatoula Louisiana. Dr. Melody is also currently servicing as a veterinarian in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corp Reserve where she maintains the health and wellbeing of the Military Working Dogs that keep our Soldiers safe. After her recent deployment to the Middle East, her family moved Folsom and have embraced the community as their own.

Dr. Melody and her husband, Patrick, enjoy spending time with friends and family and traveling. They currently have 3 dogs and 1 cat just welcomed their first 2-legged baby, Lucas!

She looks forward to providing quality care to the four-legged family members of the Folsom community

Michelle Thomas, Office Manager/Veterinary Assistant

Michelle was born and raised in Pine, LA. She graduated from Franklinton High School. After working for Southeast Hospital for 5 years, Michelle decided on a career in veterinary medicine. She has become an integral part of Folsom Village Veterinary Hospital after working here for 15 years. She has a son, Maddox, who attends school in Franklinton and is active in sports. She also has a cat named Skipper T.

Amanda Britt, Receptionist/ Veterinary Assistant

Amanda is from the Southshore near New Orleans and has been a resident of the Northshore for the past 9 years. She has been married for 13 years and has a 10-year-old son (Ethan) and 3 dogs (Baxter, Pudding, and Sage). She has always had a love for animals from a very young age and takes pride in caring for and comforting all animals. When not caring for patients, Amanda spends all her free time at the baseball field with her son and his travel ball team, The Louisiana Stealers. She also enjoys gardening, crafting, traveling and a relaxing day at the salon.
